Some days I wake up and feel like I just want to snuggle back under the covers and go back to sleep. Or I manage to get up and drag my butt around the house, trying to get myself together. We all experience these types of days. I was thinking about some ways to help myself out, especially when I wake up grumpy (which isn’t that often). I also wanted to help out my husband, who is NOT a morning person, lol.
Here are three ideas you can use to quickly and easily turn that frown upside down!!
1. When you wake up, think about the best thing in your life right away. Maybe it is your partner, your child or children, a pet or somewhere you are going soon. Think about a very happy memory associated with what you come up with and you will be smiling in no time. Tell yourself that today is another day you will get to experience this and you are ready to go!
2. If you have children, get them to sing to you. Any song they love, with their little voice will make you smile. My daughter melts my heart when she sings her good morning song- “your face is like sunshine, you bring us good cheer, we are so happy to see you, so glad that you’re here…”. I am up and smiling in no time❤️
3. When you go into your bathroom, look into the mirror and tell yourself that you are the smartest, most engaging, beautiful person. Smile at yourself (even if you don’t feel like it) and with conviction, tell yourself this day is your bitch! Haha
Each day is a gift and we forget that when we get caught up in the crazy details of life. I know I can get caught up in the daily grind and it feels so good to stop and take a minute to remember how awesome it is to be alive. Take good care of yourself and don’t press that snooze button, be like a flower and open your petals slowly and thoughtfully:)
